The Courier plays a critical role in safeguarding specimen integrity and ensuring timely diagnostic services across Cerba Lancet Kenya’s network.
The position is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient collection and delivery of medical specimens, laboratory reports, and medical supplies. The Courier ensures proper handling, temperature control, accurate documentation, and adherence to safety protocols to protect patient outcomes and maintain ISO and Quality Management System standards.
This role directly supports service reliability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Reports to: Procurement & Logistics Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and deliver medical specimens to and from healthcare facilities and patients
- Ensure proper labelling, temperature control, and safe handling of biological materials
- Maintain accurate pickup and delivery documentation using approved systems
- Adhere strictly to infection control and PPE protocols
- Maintain assigned vehicle and transport equipment in optimal condition
- Communicate effectively with laboratory teams and healthcare providers
- Represent the organization professionally along delivery routes

Education & Qualifications
- Minimum KCSE Certificate
- Diploma/Certificate in a relevant course is an added advantage
- Minimum 1 year relevant working experience
- Experience in the medical diagnostic industry is an added advantage
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

- Registration in relevant discipline with MLCSCZ
- Strong attention to detail in labelling and documentation
- Effective time management and route efficiency
- Knowledge of safe handling and transport of medical specimens
- Adherence to infection control and PPE protocols
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Integrity and confidentiality in handling patient information
- Physical fitness and ability to work extended hours when required
- Basic digital literacy for logging and tracking deliveries
- Good driving skills with adherence to traffic and safety regulations
- Problem-solving ability and adaptability to logistical challenges
