Lancet Laboratories Rwanda Marks World Kidney Day 2025 with Free Screenings and Awareness Campaign
On March 14, 2025, Lancet Laboratories Rwanda, in collaboration with its partners, including Africa Healthcare Network (AHN), joined the global community in marking World Kidney Day. This annual event, aimed at raising awareness of kidney health and the importance of early detection, saw a range of activities conducted to promote kidney disease prevention and management.
Free Health Screenings and Public Awareness
As part of our commitment to improving public health, we provided free kidney function screenings, allowing participants to check their renal health status. Medical professionals were on-site to educate attendees on the risk factors, early signs of kidney disease, and preventive measures, reinforcing the need for regular health check-ups.
Screening Activities in Rwamagana District
In partnership with Africa Healthcare Network (AHN), we conducted screening activities at Rwamagana District in the Eastern Province of Rwanda, specifically at Rwamagana Level Two Teaching Hospital. This initiative provided essential kidney health services to the local community, ensuring early detection and awareness of kidney-related conditions.
Engaging the Community
Through social media engagement and on-the-ground initiatives, we reached a broad audience, emphasizing the significance of kidney health. Lancet Laboratories Rwanda collaborated with key stakeholders, including Rwanda Renal Organisation and Africa Healthcare Network (AHN), to amplify the message and ensure the event’s success.
A Successful Two-Day Initiative
The campaign continued into March 15, extending its reach and impact. Our teams remained actively engaged in offering medical advice and consultations, reinforcing the importance of kidney health beyond the event itself. The initiative concluded with a scientific symposium organized by Rwanda Renal Organisation, bringing together healthcare professionals to discuss advancements in kidney disease prevention and treatment.
