Direct Report: Head Cash and Banking

Responsible for the day-to-day cashiering, receiving and logging of all patients’ information.

Position Overview:

1. Key Responsibilities:

• Receive request forms from patients and verify whether all the required information about the patient including clinical data is provided.
• Phone Medical Aid Societies for patient authorizations.
• Log and process patients on the system and issue out receipts.
• Attend to queries received from other stakeholders, resolve and escalate difficult queries to the HOD Cashiering to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Print the total list of transaction (drawer list) on daily basis and reconcile cash collected.
• Close cash drawers with grand totals for the day and reopen with zero balances for the next day.
• Prepare banking and ensure that all the money enclosed in fidelity bags correspond with the money receipted and showing on drawer details and on bank deposit slips. Complete DCUS and Float hand over control book.
• Prepare banking documents and handover with cash to the HOD Cashiering and banking for safety purposes.
• Receiving samples and confirm that information on samples correspond with data that has been loaded on the system by the cashier.
• Administer sorting and distribution of samples according to set standard operating procedures to ensure the correct and prioritised channelling of specimens to various laboratory sites. This includes the monitoring and resolving of courier tracking reports.
• Reconcile manual receipts registers to ensure that all raised receipts by sites are allocated and properly accounted for.
• Manage the department stationery register.
• Investigate missing receipts, process journal vouchers and allocate missing receipts to affected accounts.
• Manage all cashiering documents.
• Administer all cash administration compiles and keep them up to date.
• Attend to cashiering and Banking queries.

Qualifications

• 5 O’ Levels Subjects including Mathematics and English.
• Diploma or National Certificate in Finance/Accounting.
• Minimum 2 - 3year relevant working experience.
